Activity:         Emotions Rally:    children work cooperatively to complete face cards depicting emotions.

Skills:              spatial relationships, cooperation

Materials:        colored sets of puzzle cards depicting emotions

Procedure:

1. Allow children some time before the "game" begins to familiarize themselves with the puzzle face cards.
2. Break children up into groups of 3 and assign them a color (which is the color card their team will collect).
3. Puzzle face cards are placed on the floor picture side down/color side up.
4. Teacher signals children to "Make a face!"
5. Children pick up one colored card each, meet back with their team and put the pieces together to form the picture.
6. When the picture is completed, teams call out the emotion depicted.
7. Play again with remaining cards.

Extensions:

1. Puzzles: set up the game cards as a tabletop activity. (Library)
2. Memory: set up as the traditional game of "Memory" and try to find 3 cards that match. (Library)
