Activity:         Sponge Printed Leaves:   children will turn a green leaf to fall colors.

Skills:              fine motor, compare and contrast, colors-language (vocabulary)

Materials:       leaf stencils, or cut out green construction paper leaves, paint sponges

Procedure:

1. Read: Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert.
2. Give children a large cut out of a green leaf or have them trace and cut out a leaf.
3. Put fall colors of paint on the paper plates.
4. Use sponges to paint colors on the green leaf.
5. Compare the printed leaves to leaves found outside.
6. Add the colored leaves to the tree bulletin board.
